Funeral services for Byron Stafford Holland will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 4, 2008 in the chapel of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie with the Rev. Jim Lofton officiating. Burial will follow in the Pythian Cemetery in Bunkie. Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
Mr. Holland, age 69, of Bunkie, passed away on Monday, January 1, 2008 at the Bunkie General Hospital.
He retired from Tennaco, he was an avid hunter and farmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom Holland and Lottie Benoit and a nephew, Ronnie "Boo" Clausen, Jr.
Survivors include his three daughters, Beth Douzart, Debbie Coulon and her husband Todd, and Sandra Mitchell and her husband Gary all of Bunkie; their mother, Alice Holland of Bunkie; two brothers, Harold Holland of Tennessee and Leonard Holland of Kinder; his sister, Hilda Holland of Bunkie; nine grandchildren, Lauren, Byron and Sam Douzart, Jonathan, Cody and Abby Mitchell, Brittney, Kelsey and Lindsey Coulon; a niece, Michelle Bean; and a great-niece and nephew, Michael and Jessica Bean.
Pallbearers will include Jody Douzart, Gary Michell, Todd Coulon, Jonathan Mitchell, Bryon Douzart, and Michael Bean. Honorary pallbearer will be Cody Mitchell.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday and 8 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. on Friday at Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie.
